Accessibility & Compliance

Compliance is not a checkbox.
It is how we build.

Public-facing websites are held to a standard. Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requires federal sites to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and the same expectation increasingly reaches state, local, and commercial work.

We design to that standard from the first line of code rather than retrofitting it at the end. This site is built the same way: keyboard navigable, screen-reader friendly, contrast-checked, and respectful of reduced-motion settings.

Perceivable 01

Text alternatives, sufficient color contrast, and content that adapts to assistive technology.

Operable 02

Full keyboard access, visible focus, and no motion that runs without the user's consent.

Understandable 03

Plain language, predictable navigation, and forms that explain what is required and why.

Robust 04

Clean, standards-based markup that works across browsers, devices, and screen readers.

Approach
"Public-facing work should be correct, accessible, and accountable to one person."
The standard behind JW Digital
i.

Principal-led delivery

You work directly with the person doing the work. No account managers, no handoffs, no translation between what you need and what gets built.
ii.

Accessibility first

Every build targets WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 from the start. Compliance designed in is faster and more reliable than compliance bolted on.
iii.

Clean ownership

Full transfer at handover. Every file, account, and asset is documented and yours. No lock-in, no dependency on us to keep the lights on.
05
Process

How it
works.

A clear, documented path from first contact to final handover, with an accessibility review built into every project.

i.
Inquiry & scope
We confirm requirements, timeline, and deliverables in writing so expectations are documented from day one.
ii.
Design & build
Focused, principal-led work built to accessibility and performance standards from the first line of code.
iii.
Accessibility & QA
Contrast, keyboard navigation, screen-reader behavior, and performance are checked before anything ships.
iv.
Handover & docs
Every file, account, and asset transferred cleanly, with documentation so the site is fully yours.

Questions

Good to know.

We are a small business completing SAM.gov registration. Our UEI and CAGE code will be listed here and on our capability statement once active. We can begin scoping work in parallel with registration.
Yes. We audit existing sites against WCAG 2.1 AA, document the gaps, and remediate them, whether the site was built by us or inherited from a previous vendor.
Often, yes. If the foundation is sound we modernize it. If it is fragile or non-compliant, a clean rebuild is usually faster and cheaper over the life of the site. We tell you which path makes sense before you commit.
You do, fully. Every file, account, and domain is transferred at handover. You can host it anywhere and edit it yourself or with any other developer. No lock-in.
Yes. Ongoing support covers hosting, security updates, content changes, and accessibility monitoring. It is optional and structured to fit how your organization procures services.
